Accreditation & Assessment

SACSCOC

Effective assessment, which leads to institutional and program-level accreditation, guarantees that the University, its colleges, departments, and programs promote high-quality teaching. By engaging with assessment and accreditation, UTEP receives the feedback necessary for the continuous enhancement of academic excellence.

In addition to fostering continuous improvement, assessment and accreditation play a crucial role in clarifying our educational processes and outcomes to internal and external constituents, including students, faculty, parents, employers, legislators, and the University's Board of Regents.

The University of Texas at El Paso is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral level degrees. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of The University of Texas at El Paso.
